POTION Partner Meeting at University of Essex: A Milestone Event!

We’re excited to share that our latest POTION partner meeting was held at the University of Essex in Colchester. It’s a bittersweet moment, as this was our last official partner meeting before the big review meeting in December.  Nonetheless, the energy and collaboration among the team were fantastic! The gathering was filled with lively discussions and insightful updates. A huge thank you to Prof. Luca Citi for hosting and to Dr. Lily Cheung for flawlessly organizing the event to make sure everything ran smoothly!

The meeting featured some standout presentations, underscoring the diversity of our partnership and how we are pushing the boundaries in this project.

Erik Kamenjasevic (KU Leuven) kicked off with a crucial discussion on the ethics and legal framework of human enhancement technology followed by Dr. Fabio Di Francesco’s (UNIPI) recent progress on human sweat and chemical analysis.  Drs Elisa Dal Bo (UNIPD) and Emma Eliasson (KI) jointly provided an update on the registered clinical trial evaluating the impact of human sweat on social anxiety. Drs Lily Cheung and Elenora Minissi dove into their research on pro-social behavior using a VR-adapted Cyberball experiment!

Lucas Cossard (SRA) and Andrea Gargano (UNIPI) shared impressive developments with the POTION Delivery System and wearable monitoring platform, showcasing the project’s cutting-edge technology, while Ginny Jorgensen (Inventya Ventures) discussed the commercialization and market innovation aspect of the project.

A highlight of the event was the delicious meal, where many of us had the chance to sample authentic British cuisine for the first time, including the introduction to Yorkshire pudding, .

As the POTION project comes to a close, we’re excited to reflect on the incredible journey we’ve had together. While this chapter is ending, the insights and innovations we’ve gained will continue to make an impact. Stay tuned for the final outcomes and the lasting legacy of the POTION project!
